1. The Little Golden Book of Noah and his Ark. (I used to drive my siblings and mother mad reciting this even before I could read.)
2. One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss. One of my favorites of his that I read over and over.
3. D’Aulaires’ Book of Greek Myths by Ingri d’Aulaie and Edgar Parin d’Aulaie. The first book of mythology I read and it started a lifetime reading and study of mythology.
4. Mythology by Edith Hamilton. Because everyone who reads mythology has read Hamilton. :)5. The Hardy Boys series by Franklin W. Dixon. I started off reading mysteries. I also read Dana Girl mysteries and Nancy Drew because my sisters had them I would read anything.6. The Witch World Series by Andre Norton. Norton was my gateway author into SF/F and this was my favorite series by her.7. The Myth Adventures Series by Robert Asprin. I loved the humor in this fantasy series.8. The Magic of Xanth series by Piers Anthony. As a teen, I loved Anthony but eventually abandoned him because of the strange fetishes and often blatant sexism of his works.9. The Last Herald Mage Series by Mercedes Lackey. The first fantasy series I read with a gay protagonist. This had a huge impact on me.10. The Discworld Series by Terry Pratchett. I love this series and still sometimes notice a little Pratchett sneaking into my writing.
